Innate in each human soul is the humanitarian desire to help others and make the world a better place. Children are our future and every child deserves a future. This responsibility has been acknowledged by beauty queens and first ladies, presidents and CEO’s, and you and I. Children’s charities are a legitimate and positive way for each one of us to play a role and impact the world around us by providing various ways to connect with vulnerable children who desperately need someone to speak for them.

A children’s charity is a unique way to put hands and feet to a compassionate intent, no matter how small. You can become part of something bigger that has the potential to rewrite history and give hope — you cannot put a price on that!

You don’t have to be Mother Theresa, Michelle Obama or

Nelson Mandela to make a difference.

You just have to care.

Here are 3 reasons why children’s charities are a means to that end.

Reason #1: They are a reflection of a society’s heart

‘There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.’ [Nelson Mandela]

The stats and numbers of chronic malnutrition in South Africa and the broader continent of Africa are staggering and on the rise. Globally there are 200 million children whose lives are at risk due to severe poverty and malnutrition. Charities take these stats and numbers seriously and put a face to each one of them.

Society as a whole has a responsibility to care for those around them. It is what makes us human. Children’s charities become a portal to channel resources and make a significant difference.
